ABI: 2013 LTE connection will exceed 80 million

According to foreign media reports, as 2011 is about to elapse, many analysts have begun to predict the development direction of IT industry in various fields. ABI Research has made some interesting predictions in the field of LTE. LTE is the next stage in the development of wireless broadband, providing greater available bandwidth that both enterprise and individual users can enjoy. Some analysts said that the existing infrastructure has been overwhelmed by the growing number of connected devices, especially mobile devices, and LTE will soon be fully rolled out.

ABI said that in the next two years, LTE connectivity will have great growth. By the end of 2013, there will be 80 million connections. For example, Saudi Arabia’s three national operators, Mobily, Saudi Telecom Company and Zain Saudi Arabia, have all launched TD-LTE networks, occupying the 2.5GHz WiMax licensed band, and their goal is to cover the entire country.

2.6GHz or 700MHz is another frequency band choice of LTE, certainly there are other frequency bands too, for example Singapore has adopted 1.8GHz FD-LTE network. In short, in the coming years, more TD-LTE and FD-LTE equipment and networks will be put into the market, and of course millions of users will be attracted.
