The total scale of Xinjiang wind power project has reached 11 million kilowatts

Recently, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission approved the wind power project planning for the five wind districts including Hami Santang Lake and Naomao Lake. From then on, Xinjiang has compiled and approved 12 wind-powered wind power project plans with a total size of 11 million kilowatts, which is reasonable. It lays the foundation for the effective use of wind energy resources and the overall planning of wind power projects.

According to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, the wind area project approved for this time is planned to be 5 in Hami Santang Lake, Nanmao Lake, Turpan Fanshan Loulan, Bozhou Santai, Altay City-Qinghe County-Fuyun County, etc. The wind power installed capacity for the 12 wind district projects has reached 11 million kilowatts.

As of the end of 2010, Xinjiang had already had 7 “arrangements” in the 9 major wind zones. The maximum power generation load for the grid-connected wind power capacity accounted for 8% of the maximum load of the Xinjiang power grid. As of September of this year, the scale of wind power installed in Xinjiang reached 1.35 million kilowatts, and the installed capacity of wind power under construction reached 800,000 kilowatts. From January to August of this year, the cumulative wind power generation in Xinjiang totaled 1.76 billion kwh, an increase of 13.4% year-on-year.

The total reserve of wind energy resources in Xinjiang is 890 million kilowatts, accounting for 20.4% of the country's total. It is an important strategic reserve base for renewable energy in China. In November last year, the 750-kilovolt power grid in Xinjiang was formally networked with the Northwest Power Grid. Recently, the Hami-Zhengzhou plus-minus 800 kilovolts and Zhundong-Chengdu and Zhundong-Chongqing plus and minus 1100 kV high-voltage projects were included in the national grid plan and construction is about to begin. The large-scale development and delivery of wind power in Xinjiang has become a reality.
