Fujian LED and solar photovoltaic industry is developing


With the night lighting project lighting the nights of Xiamen and Fuzhou, the English acronym of LED has gradually become known to more Fujian people. Today, with the energy issue tightening, the development and application of LED, and even the development of LED and solar photovoltaic industry, is on the important agenda of the government.

Semiconductor light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are a new generation of energy-saving lighting products with high energy efficiency, low voltage and low current operation, rich colors, long life, high reliability and green environmental protection. As a renewable and non-polluting renewable energy source, solar energy is the most important application area, which is to convert light energy into electric energy through solar cells, namely solar photovoltaic industry.

The integrated application of solar cells and LEDs, with its perfect combination of new energy development and environmental protection and energy conservation, is highly valued by all countries and is not difficult to understand. Fujian has formulated a program to promote the development of LED and solar photovoltaic industry, and strive to improve the competitiveness of LED and solar photovoltaic industry as soon as possible.

Fujian LED industry started earlier and developed rapidly. Now it has formed a good technology and industry based data. There are more than 80 LED related enterprises in Fujian, mainly in Xiamen and Zhangzhou, Quanzhou and Fuzhou. Epitaxial wafers, chip manufacturing, finished packaging and product applications all have a certain scale, covering the upper, middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain.

In Fujian, a group of backbone LED enterprises have developed well. Xiamen has become one of the five national semiconductor lighting engineering industrialization bases awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology. An LED industry cluster has taken shape and has risen to the west coast of the Straits, showing its vitality.

In the development of solar photovoltaic industry, Fujian has rich and high-quality silicon ore resources, industrial silicon production has a long history and a large scale. In recent years, some industrial silicon producers have actively used low-cost production processes to carry out purification research and development of solar polysilicon, and have refined polycrystalline silicon with a purity of over 99.9%. A number of development and production companies specializing in solar power modules, various solar lamps and other products have emerged in various places.

However, the scale of Fujian LED and solar photovoltaic industry is still small, and the product technology level is still not high, and it still lacks international competitiveness. To this end, strengthening external cooperation and enhancing international competitiveness have become important options for the development of LED and photovoltaic industry in Fujian.

According to the plan, in the next four years, Fujian will focus on attracting foreign businessmen, especially Taiwanese businessmen, to invest in LED or photovoltaic production enterprises, actively promote industrial transfer and cooperation; attract overseas venture capital funds to invest in Fujian LED and photovoltaic industry; strengthen cooperation with foreign countries and Taiwan, Technical exchanges and cooperation in Hong Kong and Macao, encourage multinational companies to establish R&D institutions in Fu, and encourage the introduction of advanced technologies and scarce products.

In particular, in terms of exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan, Fujian will play its geographical and humanistic advantages adjacent to Taiwan, seize the favorable opportunity of Taiwan's industrial transfer, strengthen the links between the industrial circles on both sides of the strait and the communication of professional civil organizations, and promote the docking of specific industries across the Taiwan Strait. Project cooperation; adopt preferential policies to attract Taiwan's LED and photovoltaic industry leading enterprises to invest and set up factories, realize technology and industry transfer, and expand the scale of the industry.

In response to the planning of LED and photovoltaic industry development and the need to build a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society, Fujian Zhi is building a complete LED and solar photovoltaic industry chain, forming a semiconductor lighting engineering industrialization base on the west coast of the Straits, and important production of photovoltaic materials at home and abroad.
