Epitaxial chip production scale is the first in the province

After the implementation of the "Planning and Development Plan for the Pearl River Delta Region", the 18-year-old high-tech zone has ushered in an opportunity to accelerate development. Aiming at the green light source industry, an emerging industry that the city will focus on in the future, the high-tech zone will rely on its own location advantages and industrial supporting advantages, and choose to focus on the development of LED-based electronic information in line with the idea of ​​“breaking through the upstream, making the middle and upper reaches, and consolidating the downstream”. industry.

In April this year, the city became the first provincial and municipal province to build a strategic emerging industry (LED) base. Subsequently, the high-tech zone was listed as “the core park of the green (semiconductor) light source industry base in Guangdong (Jiangmen). The High-tech Zone hired Taiwan's Tuoba Industrial Research Institute to formulate the “Guangdong Jiangmen High-tech Industrial Park LED Industry Development and Investment Planning”, and planned 4 square kilometers of LED industrial parks in the park, which are divided into production application, R&D and incubation, commercial and residential services. In February of this year, Zhenmingli Group, the largest LED manufacturer in China, took the lead in setting up 60 MOCVD equipment to produce LED blue and green epitaxial chips. Subsequently, Shenzhen Orende Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. also invested 900 million yuan. Into 20 high-tech zones in 20 MOCVD equipment. So far, the high-tech zone has implemented 80 sets of MOCVD equipment, becoming one of the largest production bases of LED epitaxial chips in the country, ranking first in the province. Upstream enterprises have entered, and downstream LED packaging companies are also moving. Up to now, 34 packaging companies have submitted applications for admission to the high-tech zone, with an investment of 4.4 billion yuan. In the first half of this year, the high-tech zone signed a total of 4 LED projects with an investment of 3.23 billion yuan; 3 LED projects with an investment of 12.9 billion yuan; 32 LED projects, with an investment amount of 11.922 billion yuan.

Public service platforms tend to be sophisticated

At the same time, the construction of the public service platform in the high-tech zone has also achieved a series of results; the provincial semiconductor green light source detection platform, the Guangdong (Jiangmen) green (semiconductor) light source public service platform, and the high-tech zone information network platform have been completed, which is a high-tech zone.
