Appliance maintenance management measures will be implemented in Beijing starting in August

The Ministry of Commerce recently announced this year's Order No. 7 to announce that the “Administrative Measures for Appliance Repair Service Industry” (hereinafter referred to as “Measures”) will come into effect on August 1, 2012. At the same time, since August, the Municipal Commission of Commerce’s enforcement team will jointly conduct a inventory of the city’s home appliance repair companies with the law enforcement teams of the district and county commercial commissions.

Although the "Measures" was formally implemented next month, the implementation work in Beijing has already been carried out. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Commission of Commerce stated that this year the Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Commerce and other departments will sort out all the home appliance repair companies in this Municipality, and the verified manufacturers authorized maintenance companies and branded contract maintenance companies will be announced online and investigated and banned at the same time. Some incompetent "cottage" appliance repair companies.

For the problem of unsure quality and unreasonable pricing, the "Measures" clearly require that home appliance repair operators should clearly indicate the charge standards, quality specifications, warranty period, and complaint telephone numbers for service items and home appliance accessories. In view of the current mixed situation of service personnel in home appliance repair companies, the "Measures" stipulates that home appliance repairers should provide consumers with the qualification inspection of the company's maintenance service personnel and require them to wear or present to consumers at work. Special operators engaged in high-level operations, welding, refrigeration and air-conditioning operations must also have special qualification certificates issued by the state to hold certificates.

It is worth noting that the "Measures" also increased penalties for illegal appliance repair service companies. Article 9 stipulates that home appliance repair operators and employees must not have the following behaviors: falsely list, exaggerate, or falsify maintenance service items or content; hide or hide the fact that user products are damaged due to maintenance services; falsely declare faulty parts and intentionally replace performance Normal parts; misappropriate appliance manufacturer's trademark or special maintenance mark. Any appliance repair operator who violates the Measures may be given a warning and ordered to make corrections within a time limit; if it refuses to make corrections, it may make an announcement to the public; if it violates Article 9 of the Measures, the circumstances may be severe. Ten thousand dollars shall be fined.
