AUO will mass produce small size AMOLED panels at the end of Q2

Recently, Taiwan panel maker AUO said that small-size AMOLED panels are scheduled to begin mass production at the end of the second quarter of 2012, and AUO is preparing to fully convert the 3.5-generation low-temperature polysilicon panel factory to AMOLED panels by the end of the second quarter.

AUO also recently said that its six-generation factory has set up a laboratory to develop large-size AMOLED panels and is in business negotiations with several Japanese customers. AUO believes that 2012 will be the first year of revolution in new-sized panels. Important dimensions such as 50-inch and 39-inch have gradually become mainstream sizes, and gradually replace some of the original size panels.
