Talking about the primary optical design and secondary optical design of LED

High-power LED lighting components generally require two optical designs before becoming a lighting product. When packaging LED ICs into LED optoelectronic components, an optical design must be performed to solve the range and distribution of LED light exit angle, light intensity, luminous flux size, light intensity distribution, and color temperature. This is called an optical design. The secondary optical design is for high-power LED lighting: general high-power LEDs have a single lens, and the illumination angle is about 120 degrees. Secondary optics is to change the optical properties of a light passing through a lens through an optical lens.

We must be consciously aware that an optical design is the basis of secondary optical design. Only one optical design package design is reasonable, can guarantee the light quality of each LED illuminating component, and can be used for secondary optical design on the basis of one optical design to ensure the light quality of the whole illuminating system. Simply put, the purpose of an optical design is to remove as much light as possible from the LED chip . The purpose of the secondary optics design is to allow the light emitted by the entire luminaire system to meet the design requirements.
