Design of Video Surveillance System Based on CDMA2000-VPDN

With the gradual promotion of 3G technology in China, the application of 3G technology in the video surveillance industry has become a hot spot. As one of the three mainstream 3G technical standards, CDMA2000 has developed rapidly in China. China Telecom's CDMA2000 system is mainly used in CDMA2000 1x for voice and low-speed data and CDMA20001xEV-DO (EvoluTIon-Data Only) for video and high-rate data. In the case of CDMA20001xEV-DO transmitting high-speed data messages on a wireless channel, it theoretically supports a downlink data rate of up to 3.1 Mbps and an uplink rate of up to 1.8 Mbps. The cost of China Telecom's data service is calculated according to the flow or time. As China Telecom vigorously promotes 3G services, the cost is also gradually reduced, providing favorable conditions for the popularization of CDMA2000 networks. 3G network video surveillance is also getting more and more attention. It is against this background that this article proposes a video surveillance system based on CDMA2000-VPDN.

1 System functions and features

1.1 Functional description

The system proposed in this article has the following functions:

â‘ Support 3G wireless access of front-end equipment, realize wiring-free and improve installation speed.

â‘¡Users with permission can browse real-time images and control the pan / tilt and lens of the monitoring point.

â‘¢Users can browse the monitoring points in real time through the 3G mobile client.

â‘£Platform alarms include motion detection alarms and infrared detection alarms, and users can be notified by dialing.

⑤ Video and picture resources are stored centrally in the front-end encoder, and the video stream is directly transmitted from the device to the user's 3G mobile client.

1.2 System characteristics

â‘  The processor adopts TI's new TMS320DM365 digital media processor based on DaVinci technology. TMS320DM365 is highly integrated with many components, such as H264, MPEG4, MPEG2 codec, which can meet the integrated video signal processing (ISP) solution of intelligent video processing functions. The integrated components greatly reduce the development cycle and reduce development costs. This article uses the high-performance H264 encoder component in TMS320D-M365, which greatly compresses the video data and reduces the burden for 3G network data transmission.

â‘¡Using embedded Linux operating system. This system uses the open source embedded Linux operating system. Its good scalability and portability, excellent efficiency and stability, and the characteristics of supporting multiple processor architectures make Linux more and more widely used in the embedded field.

â‘¢ Supported by the 3G-VPDN platform of Telecom CDMA2000. This system is based on the 3G-VPDN platform of Telecom CDMA2000. 3G-VPDN (Virtual Private Network) uses a secure dedicated tunnel technology to provide high security protection for the target network and prevent the leakage of user privacy and information. And the use of 3G mobile client can be accessed anytime and anywhere to achieve real-time mobile monitoring.

â‘£ System monitoring adopts motion detection technology. This system uses motion detection technology, video motion detection combined with infrared detection, which greatly enhances the reliability of system alarms. With the intelligentization of video surveillance, new technologies such as motion detection and pattern recognition have been introduced into video surveillance systems. Intelligentization is an inevitable trend of video surveillance in the future.

2 Implementation principle and system structure

2.1 Overall system framework

The overall framework of the system is shown in Figure 1. The system includes a front-end embedded intelligent video monitor, a 3G-VPDN authentication platform, and a mobile phone monitoring client. The whole system takes embedded intelligent video monitor as the core, telecommunications CDMA2000-VPDN as the network support, and 3G smart phone as the remote monitoring client.

The embedded intelligent video monitor collects on-site video data, through motion detection technology, combined with the monitor's infrared alarm module, to determine whether someone is active in the monitoring area. If it is detected that someone is active in the monitoring area, immediately dial the 3G mobile phone number preset by the system to alert. After the 3G mobile phone receives the call, the user chooses to start the mobile video surveillance client to initiate the VPDN connection. After passing the 3G-VPDN certification platform authentication, the embedded video monitor also establishes a VPDN connection at the same time, establishing a peer-to-peer VPDN between the video monitor and the mobile client connection. Use UDP and TCP protocols to interact with the embedded intelligent controller, such as whether the user requests the embedded intelligent controller to send live video data to the mobile phone client, whether to request the PTZ control, and release the alarm. At the same time, when there is no alarm, the 3G mobile client can also actively call the embedded video monitor, apply for the establishment of a VPDN connection for active access, and be authorized to browse the local monitoring screen in real time.
