Dave Williams said, “With magnets, you can quickly lock shoes and pedals. This idea stems from my previous mountain bike riding experience. Many cyclists are most concerned about the foot air."
Williams said that the idea of ​​a magnet pedal is not new. Similar patents can be traced back to 1896. However, he did some key improvements. For example, the pair of pedals can be adjusted in magnetic strength according to the requirements of the rider. Newbies can use minimal force; for veterans, this force can be increased to 25-30 pounds.
Williams pointed out that he spent a lot of time on this project and completed prototype manufacturing alone without the help of others. Vault MagLock is currently booked at Kickstarter. The price of one pair of pedals is 80 US dollars (about 553 yuan). The shipment time is May 2017.
