Optimistic about the demand for 6-inch MOCVD machines, MOCVD equipment manufacturers such as Aixtron and Veeco have already deployed 6-inch product lines; on the other hand, MOCVD optical measurement manufacturers such as Laytec have also advanced The In-Situ Metrology technology is used to increase the production yield of the LED epitaxial plant and achieve the goal of reducing manufacturing costs.

Thieme pointed out that in 2013, the market penetration rate of 6-inch MOCVD machines will rapidly expand. For Pyrometer instruments that measure the temperature of wafers in MOCVD reactors, Laytec has developed local quantities installed in reactors. Measuring instruments can ensure the flatness of the wafer to increase the yield.

Thieme further revealed that the current local measurement instrument developed by Laytec for the 6-inch MOCVD machine platform has a LED wavelength uniformity of ±3 nm. The company plans to achieve a target of ±1 nm by 2015. , It is hopeful that LED Epistar will accelerate the improvement of the yield rate to reduce costs.
