National wire and cable large spot checks some manufacturers failed

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) organized the Local Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau to carry out a nationwide supervision and random inspection of wire and cable products. The results showed that of the 3,803 batches of products that were sampled, 440 batches of unqualified products were obtained, and the product sampling pass rate was only 88.4%. This spot check is mainly based on GB/T12706.1-2008 "Excluding Insulated Power Cables and Accessories Rated Voltage from 1kV to 35kV Part 1: Rated Voltage 1kV and 3kV Cables", GB/T5023.5-2008 "Rated Voltage 450/750V And the following PVC insulated cables - Part 5: Flexible cables", JB/T8734.3-1998 "PVC insulated cables and wires with rated voltage up to and including 450/750V and cords - Part 3: Flexible cords for connection" and other countries Standards and industry standards have examined the insulation and sheath thickness, the tension before and after insulation and sheathing, the weight loss of insulation and sheathing, the thermal insulation extension, the insulation shrinkage, the conductor resistance, and the flexural deflection test.

A total sample survey was conducted in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Chongqing, and Sichuan. There were 3803 batches of 2,603 ​​companies in 30 provinces in Guizhou, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, and Xinjiang, with 3,363 batches of qualified products and 440 batches of unqualified products, and the product sampling pass rate was 88.4%.

As the second largest industry in the electrical and electronics industry, second only to the automobile manufacturing industry, wire and cable are aptly referred to as the "blood vessels" and "nerves" of the national economy. The spot check found that the XLPE insulated power cable jacket weight loss, insulation heat extension and insulation shrinkage of the three items were 121 batches, 47 batches and 62 batches of products were unqualified, accounting for this type of product unqualified general batch 72.0%, 28.0%, and 36.9% of the times; 25 items of power cable insulation thickness and sheath thickness were 25 batches and 39 batches were unqualified, accounting for 11.1% and 17.3% of unqualified batches of such products. The thickness of the thinnest part of the PVC insulated soft cable and wire insulation was 39 batches of unqualified products, which accounted for 17.8% of the unqualified total batches of the products; conductor resistance items of the power cable and cable wire were 12 batches respectively. The second and 21 batches of products were unqualified and accounted for 5.3% and 9.6% of the unqualified batches of such products. These projects are major hidden dangers related to safety, environmental protection and consumer health and safety.

It is reported that the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China has informed the local government and related departments of the quality supervision and inspection of wire and cable products across the country, and has instructed the relevant provincial quality and technical supervision departments to disqualify the spot checks in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. The products and their production enterprises shall be dealt with according to law and be rectified within a time limit.
